Best Marketing Singapore
Every few months, the same email lands in my inbox.
"Congratulations! Best Marketing has been shortlisted for Best Digital Agency 2026."
The first time, I felt a bit proud. Then I scrolled down. There's always a second part. A "winner's package". A gala dinner table. A logo licence. All with a price tag.
That's not an award. That's an ad with a trophy attached.
And Singapore business owners see these logos everywhere. Agency websites, pitch decks, LinkedIn banners. "Award-winning agency." Award-winning at what? And who decided?
How to tell a bought award from a real one
Before you hire any agency (mine included), ask four questions about the trophy on their homepage.
- Who judged it? A government agency or an industry body with named judges, or the company that sold the gala tickets?
- Who paid? If winning comes with an invoice, it's marketing, not merit.
- What did they actually check? A real award looks at the work: the system, the results, the evidence. A bought one looks at your credit card.
- Can anyone get the logo? If ten agencies in your feed won "Best Agency" from the same organiser this year, you have your answer.
If the agency can't answer these in one breath, the trophy is decoration.
What we actually won
On 13 October 2026, at SMEs Go Digital Day at Suntec, Best Marketing won Innovation Excellence at IMDA's SME AI Impact Awards 2026. The award was presented by Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information.
We didn't buy a table. We didn't pay for the logo. IMDA looked at what we built and how we use it.
What we built is Big Beast, the AI operating system that runs Best Marketing behind the scenes. Status reports, Search Console pulls, first drafts, monthly client decks, finance and ops: if a task is repeatable and doesn't need judgement, Big Beast does it. Our specialists check the work, then spend their hours on the part that actually grows your business, the strategy.
Why this matters to you, not just to me
A trophy doesn't rank your website. I know that. You know that.
But here's what it does tell you. When we say we're AI-first, it isn't a slide in a pitch deck. Someone outside the company, with no reason to be nice to us, looked under the hood.
For our clients it shows up as boring, useful things. Reports land on time. Questions get answered fast. And the people on your account spend their week on your keywords and your ads, not on copying numbers into spreadsheets.
So what should you check before hiring an agency?
Skip the trophies. Ask for things nobody can buy.
- Before-and-after screenshots from a client's own Google Search Console (see ours).
- Google reviews from real, named clients.
- What happens in your first month, in writing.
That's how we sell too. If you want me to look at your website and tell you, in plain English, where it's leaking leads, book a call with me here.
