Get to Know Jim

What were your career aspirations growing up?

It was either being an accountant, a firefighter or a doctor. Typically what every Singaporean parent would brainwash their child to become. But life had other plans for me — I ended up in sales, then discovered the world of digital marketing, and never looked back.

Why did you start Best Marketing?

I worked in insurance sales and faced constant rejections from unqualified prospects. Cold-calling, door-knocking, getting turned away — it was brutal. I started researching how to generate better leads and stumbled into digital marketing. The more I learned about SEO, the more I realised its potential to bring warm, qualified leads to any business. I thought: if I can do this for myself, I can do it for others. That was the beginning of Best Marketing.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Being able to help my clients who suffered the same problems I faced as a door-to-door sales person. It delights me whenever I see my clients having warm and qualified leads from their SEO campaigns. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client go from struggling to find customers to having more leads than they can handle.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on planning a marketing strategy for a client that we have just gotten on board! Every new client is a fresh challenge, and I love the process of mapping out a growth plan from scratch.
